Project 1 _ Hard Surface Modelling

  1. Choose hard surface object in any of these categories:

    1. Vehicle

    2. Weapon

    3. Robot

    4. Machine

  2. Search reference images or blueprints.

  3. Model the selected object using polygon tools and techniques based on what you have learnt.

  4. Apply the right material and texture to give its appearance.

  5. Set lighting and rendering using ‘Eevee’ / ‘Cycle’ as the rendering engine.


  1. Use Eevee/Cycle rendering (Blender ) for final output. Output size is 1280 x 720 with png format.

  2. Upload in your e-portfolio and update the link on TIMES platform as submission.


Progress

For this project, I choose weapon to create, I first think of creating weapon from Japanese animation, on my fist idea, I decided to create a quinque from anime tokyo ghoul, a weapon that look like spear + sword, I need to find a normal image for the reference use

I first tried to do this using a cylinder, making this from a single cube and extrude from the hilt, it's successful in the beginning.

But after I created a low poly sword out from the reference, I started on adding some detial inside, and subdivide it to become high poly, the shape crumble because of the hole and other detail, the shape become quite ugly, then I started to change another weapon, a more regular weapon which is a short katana,
