Week 1 24.04.2024
~Briefing~
Introduce about 3D modeling, and introduce about the software that we are going learn which is
BLENDER: a free and open-source 3D creation suite that supports the entire 3D pipeline
Figure 1.1 note 1(3D pipeline and brief)
3D modeling can separate into three group which is VFX (visual effect), 3D animation, game.
And 3D animation pipeline is quite similar as production which is preproduction - production - postproduction.
But different with the workload, preproduction conclude of visual element, storyboard and character design
Production concludes of 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, animate, lighting and rendering
Postproduction concludes of compositing, editing, color grading and audio editing.
tutorial on simple introduction on blender
most of the perspective control are using the middle click example like move using middle click and drag.
numpad 1 for perspective toward -y (front)
numpad 3 for perspective toward x (side)
numpad 7 for perspective toward z (up)
Shortcut g for grab object
Shortcut s for scale
Shortcut r for rotation
Shortcut n for item bar
Shortcut TAB for changing to edit mode
Pratical
Creating a simple table

Week 2 01.05.2024
~Labour day~
Week 3 08.05.2024
Polygon modeling, which is the basic of 3d modeling, basic but important.
start with just low poly object
this week class, we learn on using edit mode, to change the shape of object
Shortcut Key:
e = extrude
i = inset
Ctrl + r = loop cut
Ctrl + b = bevel
tutorial
Figure 1.3 blueprint
For the practice we need to model out a bottle according to this blueprint
Figure 1.4 low poly bottle
Week 4 15.05.2024
This week lectures class, we are going to learn about box modeling, lean to use modifier to generate and used these technique on our project 1 hard surface modeling.
Tutorial and practical
We are going to model a low poly car according to the blueprint
Figure 1.5 car blueprint

Figure 1.6 cube
Firstly, create the body part with a cube and stretch to a rectangular cuboid as the main.
Figure 1.7 box
next, model with edit mode, extrude the part which is the upper part and delete half of the body to add a mirror modifier to save time and effort, and add a little bit of detail to made it same as the blueprint (invert + extrude + grab)
figure 1.8 wheels
Create the wheel with cylinder.
figure 1.9 front lamp
Also create the lamp with the cylinder and bevel to made it curve
figure 2.1 color
add some texture and color to the car
Week 5 22.05.2024
~Wesak day~
Week 6 29.05.2024
In this week lectures, we are required to create a karambit according to the blueprint provided.
Figure 2.2 blueprint karambit
For creating this karambit, we need to use the bool tool as Boolean to make a hole on the upper part
and creating the sharpness
by extruding from the main body.

Instruction
Task 1
Exercise 1
EXERCISE 1: MODELING FROM PRIMITIVES OBJECTS
Think of any object such as train, snowman, robot etc. that can be simplified as a combination of primitive shapes.
Sketch your idea for inspiration.
Using Blender, model the objects using primitive objects such as Sphere, Cylinder, Cube, Cone, etc. Use transformation tools to manipulate the object and you may use modifier tools to deform the model.
Assign basic material to the objects. Using viewport shading technique using Workbench Render, set the final look to make it presentable by manipulating the light and shadow appearance. Compose the object within the camera for final output by adjusting the right angle and frame.
Set the output size as 720p (1280 x 720). Use Viewport Render Image to render the final image and save as png format.
For submission, render 2 images:
1. Final render solid without wireframe.
2. Final render solid with wireframe.
For other submission:
1. e-portfolio blogspot link (format *.doc)
2. Blender file
Deadline of submission is on Week 3 by the next class.
Progress
For this exercise, I decided to create my dream car, a Toyota Trueno, AE86, an old Japanese car.
To create this project, I decided to find the blueprint from the web (Pinterest).

Figure 3.1 AE86

Figure 3.2 3D image
Figure 3.3 Blueprint
After finding the reference for it, I just put it in blender as reference to create.
Started with the body part then the wheel part, finally the lamp and the side mirror.

Exercise 2
EXERCISE 2: MODELING FROM CYLINDRICAL SHAPE
Think of any object made of cylindrical shape such as a plate, bottle, bowl, glass etc.
Make a composition from multiple different objects as in the example.
Get as much as references such as blueprint or images for selected objects.
Model the object using a primitive cylinder by utilising modeling tools like Extrude, Bevel, Inset and Loop Cut. Apply a smooth modifier and adjust the sharpness or smoothness of the corner using various techniques.
Use Viewport rendering in Blender for final output. Output size is 1280 x 720 with png format.
Upload the 2 final images (PNG) with and without wireframe.
Explanation on your e-portfolio and update the link on TIMES platform as submission.
Upload Blender file.
Submission by next class.
Progress
For the assignment, we were told to create a set of cylindrical shape of object, so what I think is simple shape that appeared in the kitchen such as normal bowl and plate, and the bottle we learn in the lecture class

Exercise 3
Think of any object made of box shape such as an electronic device, vehicle, furniture etc. Keep it simple and interesting.
Get as much as references such as blueprint or images for selected objects. If you canāt find any reference, study the shapes and proportions for the pictures..
Model the object using a primitive Cube by utilising modeling tools that you have learned in class using box modeling techniques. You are allowed to combine with other shapes like cylinders, spheres etc but the dominant shape must be in a box.
Apply basic material and colour.
Use Viewport rendering in Blender for final output. Output size is 1280 x 720 with png format.
Upload the 2 final images (PNG) with and without wireframe.
Explanation on your e-portfolio and update the link on TIMES platform as submission.
Upload Blender file.
Submission by 29th May 2024.
Progress
For the assignment, I decided to do an espresso machine, as I have a real espresso machine, at my home, easy for me to use it as reference for the assignment.
First of all, I go to find a preference blueprint for it.

Exercise 4
EXERCISE 4: MODELING A KARAMBIT
Download the provided blueprint/ reference.
Use the image as reference for your modeling.
Model the karambit using organic modeling techniques and tools that you learnt (Boolean, Loop Cut, Knife, Symmetry)

Feedback
Exercise 3
The model should be using material preview with just only color first, copy the color from the render to the viewport display
Exercise 4
The center of the knife should have some weight, not just like a piece of paper, add more weight to it.
Reflection
Through this module, I learn the basic of 3D modeling through blender, modeling polygon and how are the workflow of 3d modeling, model, texture, render and more advanced that I haven't learn that, the lecture are not enough if I decided to choose 3D modeling as my career, I need to learn by my initiative to be more professional.
