LECTURES

Week 1

during week 1of the class, we are given a briefing about the class for the whole semester (introduction, the purpose of the module, due date and more). After that, we are given a tried on the Bézier game to let us more familiar with the pen tool in adobe illustrator

We are given an introduction to the main software that we are going to use for this module as "Adobe Illustrator", practice on using pen tool on drawing the vector art, following the vector shape and draw a new vector that is the practice that are given for the first week.

Week 2

For the week 2 lectures, Mr. Hafiz taught us about some theory about the character design, the proportion of a normal character, baby adult, cute or some are not human. Later on, we are taught for using direct selection tool on the task 1 to move around the object directly and we can do some adjustment on using the direct selection tool. Also, Mr. Hafiz taught us about using the curvature tool, it's easier using this tool to do adjustment to the shape but also more difficult to control the shape, it would be unbalance if I do not control properly. Lastly, he gave us briefing on the exercise 1 vormator design, and he let us to start on creating our own vormator.

Week 3

For the week 3 classes are conducted to online because of Hari Raya holiday. for this classes topic is about Vormator color, we are given a vormator and we need to change another color and create shadow for the vormator to make it more texture.

Week 4

The topic on week 4 is illustrated type, as using designing a creative type not the same as typography creating typeface but creating a illustration but in type. it's also the second exercise. And also this class is all about other tool to use as pencil tool, smooth tool, shaper tool and width tool. we are given some type and we need to trace on the type in order to same time on finding typeface from the web. And the word I choose for the practice is "ORANGE DESK"

Week 5

The week 5 lecture is about creating 3d illustration, there is an effect for creating 3d object, turn our illustration to 3d object, we are told to create a rainbow and cloud according to the video and make it into 3d, I created something that I think is rainbow row cake but Mr Hafiz said that it's like a vehicle that made of rainbow

Week 10

This class is replacing week 9 the topic is about light and shadow, start with a briefing of our project 3 digital triptych, this class is to help on our project 3, we are given a exercise on creating shadow to the illustrations he gave. There are some techniques that commonly use to create light and shadow which is Visual Depth Atmosphere and Mood Symbolism and Metaphor Visual Hierarchy and Focus Contrast and Conflict

Week 11

 This class is to replace week 10, the class topic is about ornaments. this is to help on project 3, creating background on the digital triptych. it's about creating texture and pattern. it's let me easier on creating the background of my digital triptych.
